Scope and Contents

Side #1: Autobiography of Stockbridge: In the middle ‘90’s worked on the railroad in Missouri; worked in a coal mine near Kansas City; worked in the Terra Cotta Brick Mine when eight men were killed; husked corn in Illinois and worked on farms. Came back to New Mexico in ’96. Went to Mexico with a horsethief when he was 12 years old and found gold nuggets. Cures for malaria and horse ailments. Side #2: Curing horse ailments; Indian horserace and carnival; worked for Roth at Las Vegas on the XYZ Ranch; cooking methods - sourdough, beans, jerky and how to make it and cook it, drying and smoking dish, killing and cooking antelope; story of the old buffalo hunter on the Sugarite and the men he killed; receiving cattle and shipping them.
