Scope and Contents

Side #1: Recollections of the Raton county: the Santa Fe into Trinidad in ’77 and into Raton Dec. 12, ’78; built a log cabin in Raton with a puncheon floor and shake roof - still standing in 1955; the cattle industry; childhood pranks in Raton, shooting cannon etc.; H. M. Porter; Ernest has Joslyn killed; never went to school; Jim Cook. Side #2: Blachly reads about an S. M. Cunningham of Duncan, Ariz. living under an assumed name; Stockbridge tells of his brother marrying the Stockton girl (takes her out of a convent), bear in the sugar barrel, raising vegetable and peddling then in Raton, killing of Dick Rogers and John Curry, George Curry’s brother, George Curry and the Rough Riders.
