This initial part of Demetria Martínez' collection is composed primarily of news clippings documenting her involvement with the Sanctuary Movement in New Mexico. There is some biographical material, as well as articles written by Ms. Martínez, and a folder with news clippings and reviews relating to her publications MotherTongue and Three Times a Woman.

More primary source materials from Demetria Martínez are expected by CSWR in the future. The materials in this collection are predominately in English, with a small representation in Spanish.

Corrido was created for Senator Dennis Chávez's 1952 reelection campaign. Composed by Luis Martinez. Performed by Tito Guizar and Hermanos Gallion in a Los Angeles studio. Original LP is located in Dennis Chávez Papers (MSS 394 BC, Part 3), 1921-1963, Box 173B, Folder 1.
