Channel 7 District 1 Debate, October 24, 1998

 File — Box: 9, Videotape: 13

Scope and Contents

This is the second debate for the U.S. Congressional run in New Mexico between Bob Anderson, Heather Wilson, and Phil Maloof. This video interestingly highlights how each candidate is viewed by the public and by each of the other parties. The video also provides a clear understanding of the political beliefs of each candidate, as they address questions about the wage structure, the Clinton impeachment process and political involvement in extramarital affairs, the future of social security, campaign finance reform, and the construction of Paseo del Norte through the Petroglyphs. The debate videos (Tapes 10, 13, 14, 17) are important because they present not only the issues of importance to each candidate, but also these debates show the position of the Green Party within the current political structure. It is recommended that these debates be viewed in their entirety.
