Univision Debate,, 1998

 File — Box: 9, Videotape: 14

Scope and Contents

In this debate candidates for U.S. Congress Bob Anderson, Heather Wilson, and Phil Maloof address questions on bilingual education, immigration and the patrolling of borders, and the future of social security. This debate is translated into Spanish. An interesting aspect to pay attention to is the translation for each candidate and the strategies employed there. The debate videos (Tapes 10, 13, 14, 17) are important because they present not only the issues of importance to each candidate, but also these debates show the position of the Green Party within the current political structure. It is recommended that these debates be viewed in their entirety.
