Live Debate - Decision 1998 Ch. 4, 3-31-96

 File — Box: 9, Videotape: 17

Scope and Contents

This video is a debate that begins with 30 seconds opening statement from each candidate: Bob Anderson, Heather Wilson, Phil Maloof. Some of the questions they address regard the attacks between Phil Maloof and Heather Wilson; President Clinton's affair, whether or not he should be impeached and how to explain the scandal to kids; the distribution of congressional money for education; the efficacy of school vouchers; how the candidates would convince other countries that capitalism still works for the world. The questions and answers are repetitive with the exception of the questions on capitalism and the political blowout between Maloof and Wilson. The debate videos (Tapes 10, 13, 14, 17) are important because they present not only the issues of importance to each candidate, but also these debates show the position of the Green Party within the current political structure. It is recommended that these debates be viewed in their entirety.
