El Cuervo (Huapango), [194?]-1963

This is a collection of popular music performed in Mexico during the first half of the twentieth century. The songs are quite varied and include performances by a dueto, a trio, conjunto, several mariachis, orchestras, a mission choir, and the Mexican police band. There are songs of the Mexican Revolution, rancheras, and huapangos. Also included are songs for Christmas, the well-known Spanish song Granada, a Serenata Azteca, two Cuban danzon numbers, historical and humorous corridos, a vals (waltz), and two marchas. They are the Marcha de Zacatecas and La Marcha para la Boda (wedding) de Luis Alonzo. The national anthem of Mexico was performed by the Mexican police band. Among the performers are Manuelita Arriola, Miguel Aceves Mejia, Alberto Dominguez, Jorge Fernandez, Martin y Eloisa, Pedro Infante and Alfonso Ortiz Tirado.
