Biography

Gene Frumkin was born in New York in 1928. At age ten, he moved to Los Angeles. He received his BA in English from the University of California at Los Angeles in 1950. After graduation, he began writing poetry. In 1966, he began a teaching career at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, where he taught English and creative writing. Frumkin edited literary magazines in both California and New Mexico. He has authored several books of poetry and edited or co-edited various anthologies of poetry. His poems have appeared in numerous anthologies and periodicals.
