Collection of 18th Century Illustrations
Scope and Content
The collection of loose illustrations are primarily from Gentlemen's Magazine. Plates from Battles of America by Sea and Land, by Robert Tomes constitute a folder and illustrations from Thomas Osborne’s Proposals for Republishing the Antient Part of the Universal History... (1752) are scattered throughout the collection. Prominent themes are the built and natural environment, instruments and technology, maps and plans, plants and animals.
