Mexico Survey Expedition Photograph Album
Scope and Content
The photograph album contains 77 black and white photographs, 3x5.5" and smaller. 54 photographs in the front of the album document a multi-national survey expedition to Mexico. Photos in the back of the album depict women and small children. Most of the images in the album are captioned.
Landscapes, indigenous people, and members of the expedition are depicted. Activities of indigenous life (a water train, a pack train, rustling wood, mescal production, cattle branding, corn grinding) are documented. Particular places identified include Ixtlán, Arroyo de Piedras, Campostela, Ahuancatlán, Los Copales, Camp El Ocote, Camp Buena Vista.
