This collection contains documents relating to the Córdova v. Vaughn Municipal School District case in which Nadine and Patsy Córdova were fired for insubordination and for teaching "racist, inappropriate and disruptive" curricula. This collection includes reports, depositions, court exhibits, interview transcripts, examples of student work, and other miscellaneous documents.

This collection contains both national and state organizational information, as well as substantial information about civil rights issues defended by LULAC.

LULAC Council #8003 in Silver City, New Mexico, was chartered in 1966. The organization has been concerned with improvement of the social, political, and economic status of the Hispanics of Grant County. The organization has focused on issues such as education, legal reform, citizenship, and the extension of civil and political rights to Hispanics.

This collection contains information about both New Mexico and national LULAC activities between 1990 and 1996. Administrative files and information about civil rights campaigns championed by LULAC dominate the collection.

The collection contains the papers of New Mexico land grant activist Reies Lopez Tijerina, best known for founding the Alianza Federal de Mercedes. The group organized heirs seeking to regain Spanish and Mexican land grants protected under the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo, an important component of the Chicano Movement.
