The collection contains the publications, administrative records, and research materials of the Interhemispheric Resource Center, a progressive think tank that published on US foreign policy, Latin America, and US-Mexico border issues.

The collection contains grant proposals, reports, and photographic material relating to needs, training, and projects to improve libraries and library services in indigenous communities, particularly New Mexico Pueblos.

This collection contains oral histories, slides and research materials relating to the Rio Grande, Rio Bravo project conducted by Patricia D’Andrea in 1988. The research materials include information about the river, places along the river from the headwaters in Southern Colorado to the Gulf of Mexico, environmental issues and border/immigration issues.

Peter T. Furst (1922-2015), a cultural anthropologist, college professor, and researcher, photographed and collected images of pre-Columbian and colonial Latin American, Native American, and Asian cultures and objects, as well as flora and fauna specimens. Furst used these images for his teaching and research. Collection also includes photographs by his wife, and some commercially produced slides.
