Sound Recordings

The Committee was created in 1992 to review the plan of merging three different student services centers (African American, Hispanic/Chicano, and American Indian Student Services) together to create a single multicultural center. The boxes contain correspondence, agendas, memoranda, minutes, and reports.

The collection contains administrative documents, correspondence, photographs, audio recordings, oral histories, articles and research files of Louise Lamphere, a professor emerita of the University of New Mexico. She is known for her founding role in feminist anthropology.

MS013 consists of materials originating from the New Mexico Indian Education Association's administrative and publication activities.

This collection contains oral histories, slides and research materials relating to the Rio Grande, Rio Bravo project conducted by Patricia D’Andrea in 1988. The research materials include information about the river, places along the river from the headwaters in Southern Colorado to the Gulf of Mexico, environmental issues and border/immigration issues.

Steve Schiff was the US Representative from the First Congressional District of New Mexico from 1989-1998. A member of the Republican Party, he worked to toughen criminal penalties, supported the interests of capital, and advocated for public investment in New Mexico's national laboratories and military installations. The collection consists of legislation, memoranda, correspondence, press clippings, and audio and video derived from the work of Schiff's congressional office.
