Abstract

Contains assorted items belonging to Las Vegas, New Mexico state senator DeWitt C. Reynolds. Included in the collection are notebooks, a Directory of the Thirteenth State Legislature of New Mexico, a horse notebook, livestock contract and vouchers. Also includes two photographs, several ration stubs and a few receipts.

Abstract

This collection documents the life and career of anthropologist, Frances Léon Quintana, in the Southwest, mainly between 1960 and 1999. The collection consists of published and unpublished works, field notes, lecture notes, project proposals and reports, general and project correspondence, biographical and job-related materials, political petitions, statements, testimonies, and some news clippings.

Abstract Letters from Calvin Francis (Frank) Allen to Caroline (Carrie) Hadley written during their courtship, 1884-1887. The 163 letters mostly were sent fron Allen in New Mexico to Hadley in Indiana. Frank Allen worked as a railroad engineer and attorney during his time in New Mexico. The letters discuss personal and family matters, but also provide a unique look into social life in territorial New Mexico. Scope and Content President John Aragon established the New Mexico Highlands University Foundation in 1983. It was incorporated under the laws of the state of New Mexico in 1984. Its primary function is to provide critical resources for scholarships and other needs of the university that are not provided by state funding.
