Scope and Content

Collection consists of Aretas Hyde's memoirs. Memoirs have contemporary reactions to the anti-slavery and abolitionist movement before and during the Civil War. He also comments on the construction of pueblos in New Mexico.

Scope and Content Collection consists of handwritten autobiographical essays by Phoebus Freudenthal and his sister Anna Soloman; a 1971 obituary of Phoebus' son Louis E. Freudenthal; and one photograph of the Weisl family (apparently related to the Freudenthals). Phoebus Freudenthal's two page essay describes his birth in Poland and subsequent arrival and career in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Scope and Content

The collection consists of genealogical family information, correspondence, legal and real estate documents, and (typed and handwritten) autobiographical notes. Papers pertain to Kenneth Chapman's work with the Museum of New Mexico, Edgar L. Hewett and others, the Indian Arts Fund, general archaeology and the preservation of Pueblo pottery.
