New Mexico -- History -- 19th century

Clarence Herrick was the second president of the University of New Mexico from 1897-1901. The collection consists primarily of correspondence from Herrick's time at UNM.

This collection is composed of Dalton C. Bergan's research notebooks, photocopied material and note cards on Lucien Bonaparte Maxwell and François Xavier Aubry. Bergan used some of this material to write a book on Aubry.

This collection consists of Series 1: Exhibition Research (curator’s notes, biographies, family trees and photocopied images) and Series II: Exhibition Materials (exhibition book, educational matter and traveling information) related to Jewish Pioneers of New Mexico, 1821–1917.

The New Mexico Jewish Historical Society's (NMJHS) Jewish Pioneer Video Project consists of memoirs of and about early Jewish settlers in New Mexico. The collection contains video interviews, family history booklets, digital copies of family photographs, and transcripts for all of the interviews.

Collection contains 56 historical newspapers with identified articles and comments on New Mexico and its contemporary political, economic, and cultural situations. Most of the newspapers are from New York and Pennsylvania.

Elias Sleeper Stover was elected the first President of the University of New Mexico on February 9, 1891. The collection consists mostly of letters between Stover and UNM faculty.
