Eleanor B. Adams' papers contain photocopies, transcriptions and translations of colonial documents relating to the history of New Mexico and colonial New Spain. It contains a few original Spanish documents as well. This collection contains a series of records, photographs and related documentation collected by Homer E. Milford. They pertain to the Galisteo Mining District claims (1879) and Los Cerrillos Mining District claims (1879–1889). There is also a series of 1880 photographs of mining in the Cerrillos Hills by Santa Fe photographers Bennett and Brown and one by Ben Wittick of the Cerrillos smelter.

Scope and Content Materials included original 5 x 7 glass plate negatives, 5 x 7 vintage prints, and nitrate film negatives of various sizes. Many of the vintage 5 x 7 contact prints have notes on the back written in pencil by Jesse Nusbaum and notes in ball point pen by his wife, Rosemary Nusbaum. This box contains longhand transcriptions of the original Spanish minutes of the Mexican legislative sessions in Santa Fe for a large part of the Mexican period of New Mexico. One session recorded in the folders was held on August 8, 1846 [Folder 19], and records the body's consternation at the invasion of United States forces numbering 5,000 marching upon the capitol city.
