Indians of North America -- Pictorial works

Photographs of R. W. D. Bryan, teachers, and students of the Albuquerque Indian School and the University of New Mexico as well as buildings and mining operations in New Mexico.

This collection consists of 49 photographic prints, mostly of the author Robert Franklin Gish. The collection also contains seven black and white prints which are reproductions of early photographs relating to the Fergusson family, most of which were printed in R. F. Gish's book, Frontier's End: The Life and Literature of Harvey Fergusson.

The bulk of the collection is made up of material related to the Navajo Indians. It documents Navajo people, reservations, and various projects and programs related to education, health, industrial and resource development, and construction.

The majority of the collection consists of photographs taken by Roy Rosen during his travels in the United States, Europe, Latin America, and the Caribbean. There are also still life compositional studies by Rosen.

Photographs documenting the construction and dedication ceremonies at Santa Maria de Acoma, a catholic church and mission at McCartys, New Mexico designed by John Gaw Meem.

The collection contains photographs of the Santo Domingo Pueblo taken by Peter Stackpole for Life Magazine, November 1943 issue.

Six (6) photograph albums with captioned or identified photographs by Simeon Schwemberger of Native Americans in New Mexico and Arizona, including views of people, places and events, particularly around St. Michaels, Arizona and Gallup, New Mexico, in the years 1905-1910.

The collection contains photos and prints collected by Sophie D. Aberle. Persons depicted include Sophie D. Aberle and friends. Native American issues are represented by images of the Congress of American Indians (circa 1938), Indian affairs events, photos of the Commissioner(s) of Indian Affairs, the Navajo Farm Training Project, the Indian Building, and exhibits (at the New Mexico State Fairgrounds?), and the Computer Assisted Education Project.

This collection contains images of churches in New Mexico and Indians of North American in Arizona and New Mexico.

Collection consists mostly of photos of T. M. Pearce, his family, colleagues, and friends and of subjects related to the folklore and history of New Mexico.
